On the eve of inaugurating the newly constructed Majestic building of Biyani International Institute of Engineering & Technology at Kalwar (Jaipur) on 30 May 2010 (Sunday), Renowned and Reverend Guru Shri Kirit Bhai Ji emphasized the requirement of including ethics in education. He added that Education without Ethics is in complete.
Shri Kirit Bhai Ji quoting the example of a washer man explained that in the process of washing clothes, education serves the purpose of soap. However, in case water in not available in adequate quantity, then the clothes will get damaged very early and will not be suitable for reuse. Therefore, to enhance the life of a cloth, water plays the role of Ethics.
For a small child, first school of education is his family. Hence, parents should not use foul/ bad words before the child as 'these words would make an adverse impact on his upbringing & his culture and he would not acquire rich cultural heritage.
Guruji told that Ram Rajya was established during the period of Lord Rama. During this period, there was all-round peace & happiness and good administration. He quoted an instance where in Rama was resting in a forest. Lord Varun, God of wind saw Ram resting and allowed light breeze to blow near him so that Ram could have a sound sleep. When lord Ram woke up, he conveyed his respects to lord Varun. Lord Varun reciprocated and requested lord Ram to demand whatever he considered the best wish. Lord Ram told that everyone in his empire is very happy. "Kindly bless me with a promise that whenever a lady i.e mother, sister, wife is resting, allow breeze to blow in a manner that her clothes remain intact on her body". On this, God Varun told Ram that you would get what you have desired and thanked Ram who demanded such a wish from Lord Varun for protecting the dignity of a woman. Concluding this reference, Guruji emphatically told that such a Ram Rajya does not come automatically but it has to be brought by sincere efforts. Education can be of immense help in bringing such a Ram Rajya if we amalgamate ethics and religion with education.
While narrating another incident, a teacher in the class asked students to write few sentences about god. Teacher saw everyone writing but observed that a baby girl was drawing the sketch of God rather than writing a few sentences. Teacher immediately asked her as to why she was not writing about God but drawing an image. The girl replied that she is preparing sketch of God. On this, the teacher asked her whether she has seen God. The girl replied that let this sketch be complete "even you can see God". There is a need for such a devotion and faith in todays era. Small kids need to be taught lessons of courteousness from the initial stage itself. This courteousness attracts knowledge and wisdom and avoids anger and arrogance. Having deep regards for one's Teachers is one of the Greatest of virtues. Such faith and devotion towards elders and teachers are key to success in life.
Guruji further elucidated that we should not condemn our teachers as they play a vital role in refining our overall personality . We get required energy when we serve our teachers/ mentors. Condemning teachers is like opening gates of hell. Like teacher, mother also rears her children and hence children should pay full respect to their mother like they do for their teachers. However, in todays education, it is observed that students not only disobey their teachers but have scant regards for them and do not follow the path shown by their teachers. This is not at all appropriate. Hence, today there is a need of value based education so that we could prepare right type of human beings. For the overall development of coming generations, they need to be given proper doses of ethics and value in life so that we could create human beings and not machines to mint money.
Guruji further narrated his experience .He told that once a lady with her son met him and the lady wanted me to bless her son so that he should not become and behave like his father when he is grown up as the lady was most unhappy with the behavior and treatment of her husband and did not want that her son in his adult hood extends similar bad treatment/ behaviour to his wife . Guruji told that he was surprised to hear a request for such a blessing by the lady. However, there was a real truth in her statement as she wanted to see her son with good virtues. A woman possesses creativity as she is the creator of society. Guruji further highlighted that in real sense, God always resides in a place where women are respected and worshipped. Women is carrier of knowledge & drives the vehicle of wisdom. It is women who play a key role in giving right shape and direction to the coming generation.
Towards the end of his discourse, Guruji expressed great happiness that Biyani family has realised the pinch and problems of women education and are making constant endeavor towards quality women education. Within a short span of a year they have built such a beautiful campus for higher education in the field of engineering for women. I hope that they would maintain not only higher standard of education but also add appropriate doses of religion and ethics so that on completion of their engineering course, the students would become women full of virtues. "Whenever, Biyani's have invited me, I have always happily accepted their invitation. I wish Biyani family for continued success in their efforts for quality women education and further hope that they will establish themselves in this field and reach new heights and their name would not only be known in Jaipur and Rajasthan but throughout the nation and abroad as well".
